Runze’s Michael Farley and Mike Vuidez discuss workshop challenge.
Beijing Financial Street Runze School is continuing its efforts to establish a new, innovative STEAM education program in line with Runze’s founding principles. On November 16-17, two members of the Runze international team, Principal Michael Farley and Teacher Mike Vuidez, attended a STEAM Foundations Workshop in Guangzhou that had participants from five different countries.
Mike Vuidez seeks advice from one of the workshop trainers.
This STEAM workshop focused on principles of STEAM education that enhance students’ readiness for the future—including important success skills associated with communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking. Key components for this approach include inquiry-based learning; the design process; and problem-based learning.
Runze’s Mike Viudez receives his STEAM Foundations certificate.
These approaches will be used in many courses at Runze, helping students develop knowledge and skills in the STEAM areas (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math), while also developing key competencies in the non-academic skills that are increasingly important for success in the 21st century.
